2018 Color Palette

With 2018 in full swing, we’ve seen a variety of new trends in home decor, including the color selections for painting projects. With so many colors to choose from, it can be difficult to narrow your choices down to just a few.  Thankfully, the expert Lexington painters have chosen a unique group of colors that are exciting and easy to work into your existing home decor.

  • Very Berry: Red can be a bold and bright color, but darker hues within this range are a hot topic this year. Berry, a softer version of bright red, is a great way to include pops of color without overwhelming a room. Whether you’re painting an entire wall or simply adding accents to a space, there’s a berry shade that will pair well with your style. From strawberry red to lighter pink, these tones bring an energy and sense of brightness into a home. Berry colors are quite versatile depending on your vision and overall goal, but no matter what shade you choose, it will add warmth and make a statement.
  • Bolder Blue-Green: Maintaining a sense of peace and serenity is an important factor when painting a room. There is nothing more calming than the blue-green tones that have been selected for 2018. This quiet color option, like the softer hues of berry, offers a mellow color when compared to brighter blue choices. Depending on your style preference, you can opt to include more of one color than the other, giving the palette a tilt in one direction. Adding more blue allows you to shift to a beach inspired theme when combined with similar accents, while darker green hues make for a warmer, earth-inspired atmosphere.
  • Many Shades of Gray: This neutral tone is often skimmed thanks to its simple nature, but don’t overestimate the power of this color! Pegged as one of the most popular tones for 2018, gray offers a sophisticated setting, regardless of the undertone that comes with it. This shade and it’s variations effortlessly put a modern twist on a neutral color, bringing fresh life to any room. Find cool comfort in a blue undertone for a tranquil energy, or warm things up a little bit with a lighter purple combination. Whatever you choose, your room will benefit from this beautiful color.

Along with these colors, warm yellows and various beiges are set to take over in 2018. These palettes offer a variety of options within their specific color, which allows each individual to meet their design needs. Depending on your personality and style goals, you are sure to find a color that works!
