Decorating Your Office For The Holidays

The holiday season is finally here, which means you’ve probably already covered your home in sentimental decorations that signify the holiday you celebrate with your friends and loved ones. Have you considered the ways you can extend this holiday cheer into your office, where you spend the majority of your time?

In an office space, it can be difficult to strike a balance between over-the-top and tastefully festive when it comes to holiday décor. There’s also the issue of decorating in a way that’s nondenominational so as to not exclude anyone in the office. Discover the many ways you can create a fun and festive environment in your office space.

Decorate with winter foliage. Winter plants like pine, fir, and holly make for great office décor that doesn’t call to mind a specific holiday. Drape garland over the front of the reception desk or hang decorative wreaths from every door. Flower bunches wrapped in decorative bows make for beautiful table displays in waiting rooms and conference areas. If you’re worried about folks with allergies, you can find their faux counterparts at your local craft store.

Use neutral color schemes. The professional Cherry Hill painters recommend using neutral colors, like silver and gold, to evoke the festivities of the holiday season. This keeps the overall tone of the office neutral, too, instead of the symbolic colors associated with specific holidays, like the reds and greens of Christmas or the silvers and whites found in Hanukkah décor.

Add a little brightness. Short amounts of daylight can leave office workers feeling less than cheerful. To combat the lethargic feeling too much exposure to fluorescent lights can cause, fill the office with decorative string lights. Doing so will brighten everyone’s mood (and the office space itself)! Avoid plugging holiday lighting into outlets that power equipment, computers, or power strips, as this creates a fire hazard. Instead, keep decorative lighting to common areas where there is little equipment plugged in.

Fill your office with cheer this holiday season! Decorate your office for the holidays with these nondenominational decorating ideas.
