Where to Use Light Wood in the Home

Are you thinking about using light wood in your home? If so, you’re not alone. Using light woods in the house has become increasingly popular, and for a good reason. Light and blonde woods give an airy and clean feel to a space. Additionally, these woods are so versatile and can complement any home décor style, from traditional to modern and everything in between. They are so easy to design with and can be used in several different spaces throughout your house.

Here are five places to use light wood in the home:

1. Flooring

“One of the easiest places to incorporate light woods in your home is through your flooring,” says a Knoxville interior designer. “Your floors can be a focal point, and blonde wood keeps the room bright and airy.” You can pair the wood flooring with neutral-colored walls or use wood furniture in the same shade for some visual appeal.

2. Bedroom

Light woods can help create a serene and calming bedroom space, helping you get a good night’s sleep every night. And you don’t just have to focus on the floors. In the bedroom, you can invest in a light wood platform bed frame or opt for a headboard and nightstands in the material. Pair these furnishings with either neutrals or a cozy cream bedspread, and you will have a perfectly peaceful bedroom.

3. Living Room

Living rooms are one of the most versatile rooms in the home. Depending on your style and personality, they can be formal or casual. That’s why light woods work seamlessly in the space—they’re just as versatile! Incorporating these materials in your living room is much easier than replacing your sofa. Instead, you can swap your accents pieces, such as an end table or coffee table. When your space features a warm couch, gilded framed artwork, and a light wood accent table, it can really warm up the room. The light wood also provides a lightweight contrast to any darker colors present.

4. Kitchen

The kitchen is another space in the home that gives you several places to use light woods. First, you could try blonde wood cabinets. Or, if you wanted to be a little bolder, you could pair black or dark-colored cabinets with a white backsplash and blonde wood countertops. If either option is too much commitment, you could choose an island or table in blonde wood instead.

5. Home Office

Lighter woods can bring a sense of Zen to any space, so what better place to use than in a home office? A blonde wood also helps make a room feel bigger and more spacious. So, if you are going to be spending all day in a room, like your home office, it’s best to go blonde. Try a desk or credenza in light wood or even shelving in your office. Not only will your room feel lighter, but your productivity levels may increase too!

Warm Up Your Home with Light Wood

If you want your home to feel airy and serene, then you should start looking for ways to incorporate light wood. Whether you’re using raw blonde wood for your accent furniture or laminate light wood for your flooring, you’ll be able to create a peaceful haven that’s cozy and welcoming.
